Technical specifications

One of the most important matters that you have to address when picking an air purifier is its filtering capacity, which basically refers to the room size that it can handle. This allows you to enjoy having a device that is efficient but doesn’t waste too much energy. The AeraMax 200 can cover 200 to 400 sq. ft. of space, which makes it ideal for medium-sized rooms.

This model relies on two different types of mechanical filters and two additional technologies to carry out air purification. It has a carbon filter and a True HEPA filter, both being highly effective in trapping many of the impurities usually found indoors. Furthermore, it features the AeraSafe antimicrobial treatment, as well as the PlasmaTRUE ionizing technology to complement the two mechanical filters.

The Fellowes Aeramax 200 features a silent operation, which makes it great for offices and bedrooms. It’s also an Energy Star-rated appliance, so you’re assured energy efficiency. Lastly, it has AeraSmart sensors that detect the presence of impurities in the air, which prompts the purifier to increase or decrease its air intake accordingly. This not only reduces the machine’s overall energy consumption, but it also maximizes its efficiency and effectiveness in cleaning indoor air.

Performance

This air purifier is specifically designed for fighting asthma and allergy triggers, which makes it perfect for those who struggle with these health problems. Every feature that it has contributes to removing allergens and bacteria from the air. The carbon filter is excellent at removing unpleasant odors usually caused by pets, smoking, mold, or dampness, while the True HEPA filter captures particles as small as 0.3 microns, including pollen, dust mites, spores, and germs. There’s also the AeraSafe treatment that protects the filter against bacteria and fungi buildup while the PlasmaTRUE technology uses ions to effectively capture and remove allergens from the air.

Design

When it comes to appliances that stay in sight and influence the aesthetics of your household, design becomes very important. Fortunately, the AeraMax 200 appears to be designed to fit most homes. Its white housing with silver accents helps it blend into any home décor and complement even the most modern home. Its sturdy base keeps it standing without any risk of tilting, while a built-in handle makes it easier to carry around. It also features an intuitive touchscreen panel that makes the air purifier easy to control.

Features

Thanks to AeraMax 200’s Aera+ mode, flu, and cold viruses are captured more efficiently during flu season by increasing the rate of air turnover. It also has an adjustable fan speed but misses out on having a timer. Note that the carbon filter has to be replaced every three months, but its filter light indicators will let you know when it’s time to change the two filter cartridges.

Warranty

Given that the AeraMax 200 is reasonably-priced but not exactly cheap, it’s reassuring to know that it comes with a 3-year warranty that covers manufacturing and operating defects. Moreover, on the manufacturer’s website, you will find plenty of useful information as well as a customer service section to assist you should you encounter difficulties with your air purifier.

Final Thoughts

What makes the Fellowes AeraMax 200 a top-rated air purifier for health-conscious individuals is the fact that its True HEPA filter, carbon filter, AeraSafe antimicrobial treatment, PlasmaTRUE technology, and special Aera+ mode all work cohesively to protect your household from all sorts of health threats—from simple allergens to the actual flu virus itself. As an air purifier that’s certified by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, it’s recommended for homeowners who want to secure clean, contaminant-free, and odor-free indoor air for themselves and their family.

For the price it asks, it’s truly the best option to go with. The feature that I love the most is the AeraSmart sensors that allow it to automatically adjust the speed according to the level of indoor pollution. This feature really made my life a lot easier, I haven’t once modified the settings as it wasn’t actually necessary.
