The Blueair 400 series are some of the most elite air purification systems available on the market. The 450E is a small purifier designed for rooms up to 365 square feet. The clean air delivery rate for purifiers is usually determined by two factors: the rate at which clean air is produced and the amount of clean air that is cycled through the room. This purifier is certified in clean air delivery rate by the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM). If you suffer from allergies or you have a high level of pollutants in your home, the Blueair 450E may be exactly what you are looking for.

Despite its small size, the Blueair Model 450E is one of the best portable air purifiers we reviewed. Moreover, its impressive capabilities do not make it noisy, so you can even keep it in the bedroom. It cleans the air by electromagnetically charging the filtered particles before sending them back in the air. After they pass through the filter the second time, the charges particles stick to the filter. Even if ionizers emit ozone, this air purifier is certified by the California Air Resources Board for very low to none emissions. Because of its high performance, the it is very popular among those who suffer from respiratory conditions or allergies. On it lowest setting, it has a low noise output of 27 decibels and on the highest setting, the noise level measures 51 decibels. This air purifier is Energy Star rated and comes with a 5-year limited warranty. Most customers are very pleased with this product, although they complain about the high price of replacement filters.

This is a small portable purifier that you can even take with you when you travel. Although you might think such a small air purifier is unable to compete with larger purifiers, it is able to filter the air in rooms up to 365 square feet just as well. The manufacturer’s attention to detail in the exterior design is easy to notice. Its modern aesthetics will blend in any environment. Although the 45-pound Blueair Model 450E air purifier lacks any kind of casters, it has built-in carry handles so you can transport it from room to room. The purifier is easy to use, as you are able to view the gas and electronic particle sensors, set the purification speed, program the timer and be notified when the filter needs to be replaced. The remote controls allow you to manually adjust the levels without having to leave your desk.

Other Features

The E in the air purifier’s name stands for Electronic, although it means much more: economical, environmentally-friendly, excellent and effective. It is smaller than the 600 series but provides the same air cleaning performance. Gas sensors and electronic particle confirm that the 450E purifier is effective in removing allergens like pet dander, odors, mold spores, gas, pollen, dust, and smoke. Moreover, when the sensors detect new levels, they adjust accordingly before you even realize that the air pollutants have reached harmful levels. The SmokeStop filter is standard on the 400 series and adds 2 pounds of activated carbon extracted from coconut shells. This filter along with the HEPASilent particle allows the machine to eliminate most pollutants, including Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC’s). Once the levels are lowered, the air purifier returns to a quieter pace to save energy. Other features include 4 fan speeds, air inflow through one side, outflow through the other side, internal ionizer, electronic controls, galvanized steel housing and built-in carry handles.
