This air purifier is fully automated and very efficient from an energy consumption point of view as it shuts itself off when it doesn't detect any pollutants.
For the average family, an all-around air purifier that tackles all the common household pollutants will do wonders to maintain a comfortable and healthy environment. While many specialized air purifiers—such as those that are designed specifically for odor issues or allergy symptoms—exist on the market, versatile air purifiers are undoubtedly a better fit for most consumers.
The Coway Mighty Air Purifier is one of those multifaceted models. It can combat allergens, odors, VOCs, and even airborne germs. It also has a bunch of other features that offer added convenience. Learn more about this air purifier below.
- Ionizer function can be turned on or off according to your preference
- True HEPA filter removes 99.97% of pollutants as small as 0.3 microns
- Carbon deodorizing filter removes VOCs, smoke, and odors
- Long warranty
- Decent coverage
- With an auto mode and an air quality indicator
- Has a timer and an adjustable fan speed
- Loud on highest speed setting
- Expensive replacement filters
- Bright LED indicator
The Coway AP-1512HH banners a True HEPA filter that removes up to 99.97% of airborne particles potentially harmful to your health. It also has a deodorizing carbon filter to get rid of odors, smoke, and VOCs. For contaminants like bacteria and viruses, its optional Vital Ionizer function comes in handy.
This air purifier has clean air delivery rate (CADR) ratings that are excellent for medium-sized rooms up to 360 sq. ft. While it has an auto mode that automatically adjusts fan speed according to the level of pollution in the room, you can also adjust the fan speed manually by choosing among three speed settings.
While using it at its lowest speed setting will give you a bedtime-friendly noise output of 24.4 dB, many customers have complained that it gets a bit noisy on turbo mode. Accordingly, we recommend that you only get this air purifier if the size of your bedroom is below the maximum 360 sq. ft.—unless you prefer to have noticeable white noise while you sleep.
|Dimensions||16.8” x 9.6” x 18.3”|
|Area Coverage||360 sq. ft.|

The Coway Mighty Air Purifier’s CADR ratings for smoke, pollen, and dust of 233, 240, and 246, respectively, make it clear that it’s a device that’s meant for small- to medium-sized rooms only. While it can’t compete with other models with higher CADR ratings in terms of capacity, you’re sure to enjoy great results as long as you use it within the recommended area because this air purifier boasts four different purifying stages that work hand-in-hand to improve air quality.
First, a washable pre-filter traps large pollutants like dust and hairs. Then, air passes through another filter that absorbs odor, smoke, and VOC molecules to help deodorize the air and clean it further. A True HEPA filter thereafter traps finer pollutants that may have been missed by the two earlier filters. Finally, the Vital Ionizer function uses ions to neutralize germs and trap remaining particles.
This Coway air purifier has special sensors that detect the quality of air inside your room. It communicates its findings through the LED air quality indicator found on the AP-1512HH’s front panel. This indicator lets you actively monitor air quality, but it can also be distracting when used in a dark bedroom. When the auto mode is turned on, the air purifier will automatically adjust its speed in response to the level of pollution detected by the sensors.
Moreover, the Coway Mighty Air Purifier sports two separate filter change indicators—one each for the odor filter and the True HEPA filter. It also has three speed settings and a timer that can be set to up to 8 hours.
As you may have already noticed, this air purifier has a rather unique design. Its circular LED indicator, which signals the quality of air inside the room, is the most noticeable feature on the front panel. Again, this makes it extremely easy for you to know whether or not the air inside your room is clean, but it’s a double-edged sword as it emits a lot of light during the night.
Nevertheless, the AP-1512HH’s modern design is attractive, and it should complement most homes as it’s available in two colors (black and white). This air purifier is definitely suited to live on the floor as it is quite heavy and bulky and sports its controls on the top panel.
Warranty and Support
The Coway Ap-1512HH has a three-year warranty, which is above-average in air purifier standards. Coway also has multiple customer support channels, which is definitely a plus for consumers.
If you’re looking for an all-around air purifier that can tackle all common household pollutants, the Coway AP-1512HH will likely make it to your list. It’s simple versatility means it can fit right into most homes, and the fact that it has a lot of convenient bonuses helps elevate its attractiveness as well.
