EXCELLENT
There are few downsides to this product, all that it lacks being a couple of features that don't really change the fact that this is one of the best air purifiers on the market. Due to the effective 3-stage filtration that it offers and the IonCluster technology that it comes with, it's safe to say that few models out there come close it performance-wise.
You might not be aware of it, but indoor air is typically riddled with all sorts of pollutants. Dust, pollen, mold spores, and pet dander can threaten your home’s air quality because they are potential triggers of allergy and asthma symptoms, while airborne bacteria and viruses contribute to the spread of infections and diseases. Needless to say, taking action to purify the air inside your home can improve your health and wellbeing by a great deal.
This can be carried out by running a trusty air purifier, like Green Air’s Encore 2019 model, inside your home. In this article we take a closer look at this new model to share more about its features as well as its advantages and disadvantages.
Pros
- Granulated carbon filter removes odors
- True HEPA filter removes particulate pollutants
- IonCluster technology assists in removing pollutants and neutralizes germs
- Air quality sensors and indicator included
- With filter change indicator
- Has an auto, night, and silent mode
- Wide coverage
Cons
- Quite pricey
- Does not meet California requirements
- Short warranty
Technical Specifications
The Green Air Encore 2019 features three filters along with its IonCluster technology to fight pollutants. First, a washable pre-filter traps larger particles to help extend the lifespan of the two filters that come after it. There’s a True HEPA filter that removes up to 99.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns and a granulated carbon filter that neutralizes unwanted odors and VOCs. The IonCluster feature is an ionizing function that further helps the air purifier tackle dust, allergens, and germs.
The Encore features four modes—Auto, Sleep, Night, and Fan—to fit different situations. It can also cover large spaces that are up to 1,000 sq. ft., and this is obviously one of its stand-out specs. Lastly, at a minimum noise output out 23 dB, it’s a suitable air purifier for use inside spaces from bedrooms to boardrooms.

Performance
This air purifier appears to have filters for all types of pollutants. The pre-filter and True HEPA filter mechanically remove dust, pollen, pet dander, and other particles, while the carbon filter takes care of odors, smoke, and VOCs. For bacteria and viruses, there’s the IonCluster feature that disrupts these microorganism’s internal makeup without using ozone. Note that although this air purifier is ozone-free, it doesn’t meet California’s safety standards, so it won’t be an option for residents of that state.
It has a clean air delivery rate (CADR) of 250 CFM, but Green Air unfortunately did not disclose specific ratings for dust, pollen, and smoke. The manufacturer markets this device as an air purifier for large rooms, though, so it should work well in spaces up to 1000 sq. ft. in area.
Features
The Green Air Encore 2019 has air quality sensors that dictate its fan speed while Auto Mode is running. The state of air quality is also reflected real time via air quality indicators. Aside from an Auto Mode, this air purifier also has a Fan Mode, a Sleep Mode, and a Night Mode for bedtime use. The latter two minimize energy waste and ensures that the unit is running quietly. In addition, running Night Mode will turn off the light indicators to minimize light pollution. To top it all off, the Encore 2019 has an automatic filter change indicator that tells you when the filters need to be replaced.
Design
This Green Air model features a sleek and modern design. It’s available in a metallic gold finish, and its electronic controls and the filter change indicators are located at the top of its rectangular body. An LED cut-out seen on the upper right region of its body will change colors according to the current state of air quality in your room. At 16 lbs and its dimensions of 25” x 14” x 7.5”, though, it’s not exactly the most portable unit out there.
Warranty and Support
The Green Air Encore 2019 has a warranty period of one year. This is short compared to most other air purifiers on the market, especially for a device that is on the pricey side. On the flip side, the Green Air website has a dedicated customer support page and an indicated contact number, so you should be able to easily get in touch with them should issues with your unit arise.
Final Thoughts
The Green Air Encore 2019 combines attractive filters and tech with a sleek and modern look. We’d say that its wide coverage area of 1,000 sq. ft. and nice array of modes (Auto, Fan, Silent, Night) are the two aspects that set it apart from other models. If you don’t mind purchasing an air purifier whose warranty lasts for only a year (and if you don’t live in California), then the Encore 2019 is a great all-around model
