Performance

The pre-filter was designed to remove larger airborne particles from the air, while the HEPA filter takes care of smaller pollutants to ultimately remove up to 98% of physical contaminants like dust, pollen, and pet dander from the air. Meanwhile, the activated carbon filter removes gaseous contaminants and odors. An ionizer is also thrown into the mix, which helps enhance the A350’s purifying capabilities and neutralizes germs in the air.

Although it’s advertised to work for spaces that are up to 800 sq. ft., the A350’s CADR ratings are rather low for a large-room purifier. This doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s ineffective, but if you’re an allergy or asthma sufferer, you might want to stick to using this machine inside rooms that are no bigger than 400 sq. ft. Doing so will ensure that there are at least 4 air changes per hour (ACH), which is what’s recommended to people with respiratory sensitivities.

Features

The Alen A350 is fitted with a 12-hour timer, which is pretty impressive given that most air purifier timers clock in at a maximum of 8 hours. It also has a convenient filter change indicator that lets you know when a filter replacement is due. What’s more, the HEPA-type filter and the carbon filter are fused, so you really only need to change one filter with this model.

Design

The Alen A350 features a rather dated design. Its plastic housing looks unappealing beside today’s metal-enclosed top-of-the-line air purifiers, but we won’t say that it’s downright ugly. It has an LCD display and electronic push buttons on its control panel, which is optimally placed on the upper part of its front panel. At 16 lbs. and measuring 17.5” x 18.5” x 8.2”, the A350 is built to function as a floor-standing air purifier.

Warranty and Support

Like all Alen air purifiers, the A350 banners a limited lifetime warranty. There’s really nothing much to say here except that this type of warranty always deserves appreciation, as it provides consumers with added peace of mind. Alen also has active customer support channels that can be found on the company’s official website.

Final Thoughts

The A350, overall, is a good air purifier that performs well and covers large spaces. However, the Alen A350 might not be for those who care about the appearance of their appliances, or those with severe allergies knowing that its ACH rating is rather lacking. Still, if you’re not too fussy about allergens and are simply looking for an air purifier that will improve the quality of air inside your home, the Alen A350 might just be the model you’re looking for.

I’m wondering whether this purifier can handle eliminating smoke as well. There are three smokers in my household, and the smell indoors is usually extremely bad.

I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw what a huge area this model can purify the air in, but now that I have bought and tested it myself, I can guarantee that it’s all true!

We have one of these air purifiers at the office where I work. I’m actually very impressed with it, and I plan on buying one for home use as well.

I needed an air purifier for the basement, so I bought this one since it says in the review that it can cover big surfaces. Since I use it in here, I am able to sit for hours on end working in the office that I improvised here without starting to sneeze frenetically. Thanks for the review and for opening my eyes about this amazing air purification system!
